Description American Peroxide 16% Tooth Whitening Gel

The years go by, and despite impeccable dental hygiene, you're no longer able to regain the whiteness of your youth. These dull, sometimes yellow, teeth are not only the result of the passage of time, but also of repeated consumption of staining foods or products such as tobacco, tea or coffee.

But yellowing teeth are not inevitable! You can use daily care products such as whitening toothpastes, whitening pens and charcoal powder. You can even choose to buy a home tooth whitening box.

But for a more radical solution, you can also turn to a healthcare professional and make an appointment with your dentist. He or she will be able to offer you a tooth whitening treatment using adapted products in higher doses than over-the-counter products.

In fact, he or she will use a protocol based on 6% hydrogen peroxide tooth whitening gels.

Want to know more about this gel? We'll explain it all in the following sections.

> What is the American WHITECARE 16% carbamide peroxide tooth whitening gel?

Successful teeth whitening requires the use of whitening gels containing hydrogen peroxide. This product is the whitening agent par excellence.

In France, and more generally in the European Union, this product is regulated. In fact, all the gels you can buy over the counter are whitening gels containing only 0.1% hydrogen peroxide.

But as soon as you want gels with higher doses, you need to consult a health professional. That's why only dentists are authorized to use and sometimes prescribe gels with 16% carbamide peroxide, which is equivalent to 6% hydrogen peroxide.

> Do I need to follow a specific protocol for treatment with 16% carbamide peroxide American tooth whitening gel?

If you wish to undergo a tooth whitening treatment at a dentist's, there are a number of precautions to be taken.

The dentist will have studied your teeth beforehand, and will have scaled them to ensure that they are already healthy.

As WHITECARE's 16% carbamide peroxide tooth whitening gel is more abrasive than a 0.1% hydrogen peroxide gel, the patient's gums need to be protected beforehand. By applying what's known as a gingival barrier, the gums will be protected from any sensitivity to the product.

The dentist can then proceed with the tooth whitening treatment. He or she will apply the gel directly to the teeth or use a mouth tray, usually adapted to the patient's jaw.

Sometimes, after the treatment, the dentist will prescribe bleaching gels with 16% carbamide peroxide, so that the patient can continue his or her aesthetic treatment at home (this is called outpatient treatment), while keeping his or her custom-made tray.

To sum up

- the 16% carbamide peroxide gel releases 6% hydrogen peroxide;

- it is sold to dental professionals;

- it is used only by dental practitioners or under their supervision for the 1st use;

- thereafter, the gel may be supplied to the consumer to complete the cycle of use;

- persons under 18 years of age are not authorized to use this gel.

> What are the characteristics of WHITECARE's 16% carbamide peroxide American tooth whitening gel?

All our gels are made in the USA in partnership with a cosmetics laboratory with whom we've been working for over 10 years.

They also comply with European legislation and are inspected and certified every year by an independent French cosmetics laboratory.

Our WHITECARE gel syringes hold 10 ml. They are graduated and all have a batch number with a best-before date. This 10 ml dose is sufficient for 3 tooth whitening treatments, which is very economical for professionals.

Once opened, our 6% hydrogen peroxide gel syringes can be kept for 12 months at room temperature. Never exceed 25°C. Beyond that, we recommend refrigerated storage.

When you use our 16% CP American tooth whitening gel, you'll gain up to 9 shades of color, and the results will be visible from your very first visit to the dentist.

Follow your dentist's advice for a long-lasting whitening success and a radiant smile!

Frequently asked questions

You must respect the protocol for using a 16% tooth whitening gel. Indeed, the gums must be protected to avoid any irritation. In addition, if you have sensitive teeth, it is recommended that you apply a remineralizing gel after the treatment to help restructure the tooth enamel.

Furthermore, if you are a pregnant woman, a woman who is breastfeeding or a minor, we advise you against using this highly dosed tooth whitening gel.

Your dentist will guide you in your teeth whitening treatment, but from the first session performed at his or her office, you will have visible results. The treatment at the dentist's office usually lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

The 16% carbamide peroxide gel is authorized for American teeth whitening for health professionals.

Other, higher doses are prohibited on the European market.

We would therefore like to draw your attention to the practice of American teeth whitening in institutes that use gels that can sometimes contain up to 40% peroxide. Not only is this a prohibited practice, but the damage is irreversible in the event of gum burns or damaged teeth following treatment.
