American teeth whitening is the latest trend.
A brighter, more beautiful smile is what everyone wants.
But beware: American teeth whitening involves the use of gels containing high levels of hydrogen peroxide. Only dentists are authorized to use them or prescribe them for outpatient treatment.
That's why WHITECARE has developed a tooth whitening box with gels containing 16% carbamide peroxide (equivalent to 6% hydrogen peroxide), enabling patients to continue their whitening treatment at home.
> Whitecare Box 16% contents
- 1 new, sterile universal mouth tray
- 3 sealed syringes of 10ml mint-flavored whitening gel 16% carbamide peroxide
- 10 purifying dental wipes
- 1 cleaning spray 17ml
- 1 5-LED booster lamp (plastic tab under the 2 batteries to be removed)
- 1 syringe of remineralizing gel 3ml
- 1 paper dental color chart (to be cut out on the side of the box)
> Why offer a box with 16% carbamide peroxide gels?
The use of tooth whitening gels is regulated in the European Union.
The legislation provides for two scenarios:
- Cosmetic tooth whitening can be performed using gels containing no more than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide (the whitening agent). These gels are sold over the counter and can be used at home, in beauty salons or by beauticians;
- Above 0.1% peroxide concentration, gels are reserved for health professionals.
Dentists therefore commonly use gels with 16% carbamide peroxide (6% hydrogen peroxide) for tooth whitening.
Very often, patients first come to the practice for a session. Dentists then prescribe outpatient treatment, i.e. at home.
In this case, patients have access to gels with higher doses than those initially authorized, which are limited to 0.1% peroxide.
With Whitecare Box 16%, patients have the perfect kit for continuing their care at home.
They can follow the instructions for use provided in the box, or follow the protocol previously indicated by their dentist.
> Instructions for using 16% carbamide peroxide gel
The 16% carbamide peroxide gel releases 6% hydrogen peroxide.
Initial use of this gel is reserved for dental practitioners or under their direct supervision, in accordance with EU Directive 2005/3/EC.
Thereafter, the gel may be supplied to the consumer to complete the cycle of use.
The gel must not be used on children/adolescents under the age of 18.
This product is sold to dental practitioners only.
> Whitecare Box 16% Instructions for use
1- Determine the shade of your teeth using the paper shade guide cut out on the box.
2- Remove the plastic safety tab under the 2 batteries, reposition the batteries and close the lamp securely. The white button must be activated for tooth whitening. Then clip the tray onto the LED booster lamp.
3- Spray 4-5 times with cleaning spray on the purifying wipe and brush your teeth for 30 seconds. Do not rinse your mouth.
4- Spread 1.50 ml of whitening gel on each side of the tray (1.50 ml on the top and 1.50 ml on the bottom). Apply the tray with the lamp switched on for 20 minutes. Make sure your teeth are in contact with the whitening gel, applying gentle pressure if necessary.
5- When the time is up, remove the tray from your mouth. Rinse thoroughly with water. Remove the tray from the lamp and rinse it as well. Do not eat, drink or smoke for 30 minutes after application. We recommend that you repeat the treatment at a rate of 20 min per day until you achieve the desired shade or run out of gels.
These instructions ensure a safe treatment for everyone.
But once again, a personalized protocol can be followed on the advice of your dentist. For example, you can replace the universal tray included in the WHITECARE BOX 16% with a custom-made tray supplied by your dentist.
The Whitecare Box 16% includes a remineralizing gel. The purpose of this gel is to restructure enamel and strengthen your teeth. It is not compulsory, but should be used after your whitening treatment only if your teeth are uncomfortable or sensitive.
In such cases, here's how to proceed:
1- Spread the gel inside the tray.
2- Place the tray in your mouth for 5 minutes.
3- Remove and do not rinse your mouth.
Please note that this box is not to be used by pregnant or breast-feeding women, or by minors. Likewise, your teeth and gums must be in good health, so you'll need to see your dentist first.
In short, the Whitecare Box 16% is the complete solution for your tooth whitening needs, with gels in higher doses and on the imperative advice of dental and oral health professionals.
